The book of Proverbs is often looked to because it offers practical skill for daily living (i.e. wisdom). Over the years, I’ve noticed that men and women alike consult Proverbs for wisdom, but men often excuse themselves from the example of the Virtuous Women in Proverbs 31 and use it as the standard to which they hold their wives. I wrote a short piece for the Intersect Project that demonstrates that the example of the Virtuous Women is for men and women alike. You can find it here.
